SIXPACK- animal maps sketches

Illustrations which i created using images of animals from the arctic circle and using symbols and icons form maps to make up the design. i chose to do this style of illustration as an experiment. the first illustration was the WOLF, this gave me ideas to how i could extend the designs, so i decided to research more in to symbols which are used on maps, such as contours (numbers) this led me on to produce the other animal illustrations, i have also tried using colour, such as on the POLAR BEAR map. where i have used colours for water and trees. however this version begins to over complicate the design and the animal becomes lost, there fore i will have to consider colour a lot more, which will help me create a stronger outcome for the final designs.
